Devil's Marker (Sons of Sanctuary MC, Austin, Texas Book 4) Page 10

“Guess that depends on your opinion of bikers.”

“Let’s just say you’re nothing like my dad.”

“I don’t know him that well, yet, but I’d say that’s a fair assessment. This is good.” Win put the last bit of raw fishy goodness in his mouth and smiled at R.C. while he chewed. “You want to take me back? Or you want to show me your condo?”

Win motioned for the check while he waited for her answer.

“You’re not afraid of my pop.”

  “Should I be?”

  She laughed. “Well, yeah.”

He leaned into her and said, “Why? You gonna tell him I fucked you stupid all afternoon at your pretty condo?” Her face went blank and he watched her throat move as she swallowed. She shook her head. “Yeah. Well. I’m not plannin’ on tellin’ him either. It’ll be our secret.”

She swallowed again and nodded while he was thinking, What the fuck are you doing, Win? Jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, that’s what. Adding a whole new level of jeopardy to an already crazy dangerous situation.

But all the while he was chastising himself, he knew there wasn’t any price he wouldn’t pay for an afternoon of delight with R.C. Greer. He had to confront the fact that he was already fucked stupid and he hadn’t even touched her.

Before she opened her car door, he pulled her into a brief kiss. He didn’t want to make a spectacle with a public display. He just wanted to deliver a preview of what was to come. He’d intended to tease her soft mouth with a touch of lips and a little brush of tongue. What happened instead was that he was hard as nails and stopping to adjust himself in his Levis on the way around the car to the other side.

When he got in, he could see that she was just as breathless. So she felt it, too. That jolt of electric connection that said, “Hey. This isn’t your usual hookup. It’s somethin’ else.”

Her hands were shaking slightly and he could see by the rise and fall of her chest that she was breathing harder than usual.

  “How long?”

“Um,” she glanced his way as she started the car, “to my place?”

  “Yeah, darlin’. To your place.”

  “Fifteen minutes.”

“Gonna be a long fifteen minutes. You got condoms? I didn’t come prepared.”

“Uh, no, I told you. I haven’t been dating.”

Win’s heart softened when he realized what she was saying. “How long’s it been?”

  “Two years.”

“Two years,” he repeated with the proper inflection of incredulity. “Truthfully?”

  “Yeah.”

“How’s that even possible, Arcy? You’re sex walking.”

She smiled awkwardly. “You think I’m sex walking?”

His answer was to take her hand and drag it down the front of his body until it made contact with his raging erection. He molded her hand to the shape of him and squeezed lightly before stepping back and saying, “Find me a drug store in a neighborhood where bikers aren’t likely to see us. Fast.”

She nodded and backed away still looking a little shaky, like the anticipation was making her hum from head to toe. “You ever done this before, Arcy?”

“By this, you mean a random hookup?”

“I stopped being random when you rearranged my face. But yeah. I mean takin’ somebody home you don’t know well.”

“Then, uh, no. I haven’t ever done this before.”

All of a sudden he understood the pull. She might not know it yet, but he wasn’t a hookup. He was just figuring out that she might be more than that to him.

He got Trojans at Walgreens then went to the bathroom and put them in his pocket so he wouldn’t be seen leaving with a plastic bag. He kept the receipt just in case they tried to stop him on the way out. These days there was no telling where cameras could be found and who was watching.

They pulled into R.C.’s underground parking after she talked to the guard who operated the gate. They took the elevator up to her place on the ninth floor.

He walked inside and looked around. It was Architectural Digest-worthy, but he didn’t want to talk about decorating.

As soon as she turned the key in the lock, he spun her around and pressed her back to her front door as she dropped her purse to get her arms around his neck and pull him closer. When he lifted her to be eye-level with him, her legs came up to hug his waist.

Putting a big hand on her right thigh, pulling it in tight, he was feeling very grateful for the benefits of short dresses. His thumb caressed the smooth skin with little mindless strokes that caused her spine to go liquid the way women’s vertebrae do when they’re excited. She angled her pelvis upward so that the most sensitive, hungry part of her rubbed against the hardness he’d shown her with his own hand earlier.

When he broke the kiss, she grabbed his face and pulled him back. He chuckled. “You like my kisses, Arcy?” Her answer was a series of moans. “I need you now. Here or bed?”

  “Bed,” she whispered.

He carried her, still wrapped around him, toward the hallway that looked like the likeliest place for a bedroom, and found gold.

  “King-sized bed?” he asked.

  “I like to spread out.”

He grinned salaciously. “Lucky coincidence ‘cause that’s exactly what I had in mind.”

She giggled breathlessly as he set her down. Her hands immediately went to the hem of the storm blue shirt he’d bought while she waited. As she shoved upward, he let go of her long enough to pull the tee over his head and drop it on the floor. While she admired the smooth skin covering the mouth-watering results of his everyday workout ritual, his hands went immediately back to getting her undone. As he’d been imagining since the first time he’d seen her.

The dress was sleeveless with a shirt collar, held together with little buttons and a thin belt at the waist. Starting at the top where a hint of cleavage was visible, he undid the buttons one by one gathering all the patience he could to stop himself from simply ripping the dress open.

While he was focused on carefully undoing buttons that were tiny under his fingers, she was undoing his belt, unzipping his jeans and plunging her hand inside his boxers because she couldn’t wait any longer to wrap her hand around his cock. She was rewarded with a thrill of satisfaction when she heard his almost strangled, knee-weakening moan. Smooth velvet over steel. She withdrew her hand so that she could get the rest of his clothes off and let her eyes feast on what she was touching.

With the last dress button freed, Win pushed the airy green silk over her shoulders and let it fall to the floor. She was wearing the kind of lingerie a girl wears when she thinks she’s going to get lucky. Knowing that just added to the surge of arousal he felt at the sight of her beautiful body.

“Arcy…” His voice had gone low and gravelly. That one utterance communicated more than a thousand expressions of flattery.

Of its own accord his hand reached up so that his thumb could travel over the bottom lip of her kiss-swollen mouth.

She raised hooded eyes to meet his as she tugged on his jeans. “Get these off.”

“Yes ma’am,” he drawled, smiling and thinking he wouldn’t mind taking orders from R.C. Greer if what she wanted from him was mind-blowing, life-altering, spirit-liberating fucking. Her answering smile said she liked the sound of his compliance and she rewarded that by lightly dragging her nails down the center of his torso from neck to naval.

When he sat down on the edge of the bed to remove the lace-up boots, she surprised him by kneeling and doing it for him. He leaned back, propped up by his hands and watched. Her eyes were constantly moving between his face and the task at hand and he told her, without words, that there were other things he could imagine doing with her in that position.

When the boots were off, she sat back on her heels while he stood and shoved his jeans and boxers down in one fluid movement. Kicking them away, he stood in front of her, a proud bobbing erection aiming straight for her face. Since she seemed
fascinated by the look of him, he decided to simply wait, let her take the lead, and see what happened next.

Though the suggestion hung heavy in the air, he wasn’t prepared for what did happen next. In one quick movement, she took him in hand, licked his cock from base to tip and swallowed the head, pressing the flat of her tongue against the sensitive underside. He grabbed her head between his hands to simply stay upright, while letting out a long, low, and very surprised hiss. The sensation he felt at that moment, with his dick between R.C.’s beautiful pink mouth, was a feeling he would have liked to prolong forever.

He thought he’d already passed through the gates of heaven until she reached around and unhooked her bra. When creamy breasts spilled out and bounced to demonstrate that they were one hundred percent natural, he pulled out of her mouth then lifted her to stand on the bed above him. That put her nipples almost exactly at his eye level.

Win licked, nuzzled, and played with her nipples until she was panting and digging fingers into his shoulders. In an excruciatingly sensuous exhibition of multitasking, he was also running both hands underneath the sides of her panties against her hips, easing them downward torturously slowly. While she petted his hair, holding his face against her breasts, her lower body bucked and stretched toward him, begging to be manipulated and filled.

When the panties had been lowered to reveal her mound, but not yet removed from her crotch, he adjusted his hands so that both thumbs crawled down the creases where her legs began toward her clit.

“Stop teasing and fuck me!” she almost yelled. He chuckled. “You lied. You said, ‘I need you now’. Then you forgot what you’re supposed to do.”

“What am I supposed to do?” he asked playfully, but in a voice so thick and sexy, it almost didn’t sound like him.

“You’re supposed to put that big beautiful penis of yours inside my very, very, very willing and eager pussy!” He looked into her face just as both thumbs swiped across her labia and made contact with her clit. She gasped in a way that almost stole all the oxygen from the room. “Or that,” she said. “Great choice.”

After pulling the beautiful lace panties the rest of the way off, he took a few seconds to admire the physical bounty before reaching for his jeans to retrieve a condom. While he was doing that, R.C. hurried to pull the pristine duvet off the bed, leaving simple white sheets.

She crawled onto the mattress just as Win had finished suiting up then spread her legs with a smile.

“Ready or not, beautiful, here I come,” he said as he crawled up the bed and her body, prowling gracefully and seductively as a panther.

  “Promises. Promises.”

He laughed. “I deliver on promises and aim to please.”

  “Ummm,” she cooed.

He knew she was practically virginal having been on sexual fast for so long. He also knew that she was dripping wet and every bit as ‘eager’ as she’d said. So he entered in one long slow thrust that left her gasping for air and clinging to him like her survival depended on it.

The word heaven came to his mind again. As he began to move, he was caught up in the best sex of his life. He wasn’t consciously thinking that he loved her smell, the texture of her hair, the sounds she was making, the feel of her skin, and the way she responded like she was the finest instrument being played by a maestro. But on some level, he was absorbing the event and processing the fact that sex with R.C. was an experience unlike any other.

She was no ordinary girl. That he knew. She’d already caused him to take an unacceptable risk, seriously jeopardizing the SSMC’s promise to fill the Ranger’s marker by putting himself in the cross-hairs of the president of the fucking Marauders. Who also happened to be her father. How could this happen? There was only one plausible answer. She was the Devil.

Technically, Bolivar Greer hadn’t warned Win away from his daughter, but that sort of thing didn’t have to be spelled out in the biker world. And everybody, including Win, knew it. There was no defense. There was only the delicious and singular sensation that, at the moment, was simply more important than anything else.

He wasn’t an impulsive kid. His good judgment hadn’t been overridden by hormones for years. Yet there he was. And he had no regrets.

After three hours and several mutual orgasms, Win and R.C. lay facing each other. He knew he should have been back at the clubhouse long before, but just couldn’t work up the motivation to suggest ending the encounter.

She looked exactly the way he’d imagined she would when he’d fantasized this. Mussed. Tangled. Utterly delectable.

He almost jerked when he saw a single tear escape the eye nearest the pillow.

“What’s this?” He reached for it with his thumb.

  “Nothing.” She shrugged him off.

He sighed, but after a few more beats said, “Why me?”

  “I like you, Garrett.”

He smiled. “Like you, too, Arcy.”

  “Yeah. Unfortunately that’s not enough.”

  She started to sit up.

He grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. “Why not?

  “You know why not.”

“That’s just your defenses talkin’. You don’t really think money buys happiness.” She shook her head. “Or safety or security.”

“Maybe not, but there are a lot less drive-by shootings in gated communities.”

“You don’t want to know where this is going?”

“What do you mean by ‘this’?”

He motioned between the two of them. “This thing? It doesn’t happen every day. If it did, you wouldn’t be glowin’ right this minute from endin’ a two year dry spell.”

Win searched her eyes. When she pulled away, he let her go.

“Terms were clear, Garrett. Short. Casual. Done.”

“What was it made you so scared of livin’, Arcy?”

She blinked rapidly. “I’m not scared.”

  “The hell you aren’t.”

“There’s a difference between smart and scared.”

“Yeah, there is. Refusin’ to take a careful look when life offers you the possibility of somethin’ good? That’s not smart. That’s scared.”

She pressed her lips together. “I’m not sayin’ there’s anything wrong with you. I just don’t want the life. Made up my mind. Takin’ a chance on somebody who lives from risk to dangerous option?” She shook her head. “Not for me. I don’t want to spend every day wonderin’ if somebody’s gonna live to see dinner.”

“You know there are no guarantees. For anybody.”

“I do know that. I also know that death rates are higher for cops than insurance salesmen.”

There was no arguing that. It was the truth.

“Is that what we’re talking about? You spent every day growin’ up wonderin’ if your pop was gonna live or die?”

  “Or go to jail? Yeah.”

Win looked away from R.C., nodded, then took in a big breath before saying, “Okay,” in a resigned way that sounded a little heartbreaking, even to her.

Neither of them spoke a word as they rode back to the clubhouse.

When she pulled up to the gate, he said, “You’re not comin’ in?”

She shrugged. “Got no reason to.” He reached back, pulled her Brahmin bag out of the floorboard and fished out her phone. “What do you think you’re doin’?”

He said nothing. Just programmed his name and number into her contacts. “This has been all you from the beginnin’. You’re completely in control, but I’ve made my interest known. If you change your mind, or if you need me…” He let that hang in the air for a moment to make a point. “Let me know. I’ll come for you.”

He held out the phone, but kept it close to his body so that she had to reach over and take. His eyes lingered on hers for a minute before he opened the door and walked away.

He didn’t look back until he’d climbed the dock steps and reached the door. Before he went in, he glanced over his shoulder. She was gone.

“Where the hell’ve you been?!?” Cue accused Win as he walked in.

“Kept R.C. company. Just like Boss told me to.”

Cue narrowed his eyes in a way that made Win think he was going to be questioned, but to his relief, Cue seemed to decide to let it go. “Whatever.”

“What’s happened?” Looking around Win could see that people were engaged in little pockets of serious conversation.

“We got eyes on S&B. Got a call that their prez and enforcer had pulled into the Harley dealership. Boss thought it would be a good time to have a little talk. So we rode over.”

  “Who’s we?”

“’Bout sixteen of us. We got two at the hospital watchin’ Hop. Left the two prospects here.” He eyed Win. “You were away on an errand. The rest of us showed in force. Put a perimeter around the building.”

“On a Saturday? When all the doctors and lawyers and candlestick makers are buyin’ rides or repairs or Sturgis shirts? Bet the dealership loved that.”

“They didn’t. They called the cops.”

“That was to be expected. Don’t ya think?”

“Listen, smart ass. You want to know or not?”

  “Yeah, Cue. I wanna know.”

“Four of us went inside. Boss. Zip. Smash. And me. The fuckers were lookin’ at a Dyna Street Bob, pretty as you please. They didn’t look worried when we walked up. In fact they did that thing where they smiled, but they weren’t really smilin’. You know what I mean?”

  “Smirk or sneer?”

Cue seemed to think about that for a second. “Smirk, I think. Coulda been sneers. Maybe one smirked and one sneered. Hard to tell.”

  “Got it.”

“So the low life prez is wearin’ his cut with no shirt underneath. Damn trashy look if you ask me. Worse than a wife beater. They both got big long beards like ZZ Top. But they ain’t no ZZ Top if ya know what I mean.”

  “I do.”

“Plus. It’d be too dumb for words in a fight. Anybody who gets ahold of a beard like that can lead a man around like a fuckin’ horse with a bridle. Head goes where the beard goes. Know what I mean?”
